Submarine Inquiry Summons Netanyahu and Zamir for Personal-Warning Hearings

The state commission investigating Israel’s submarine and naval-vessel procurement said Wednesday that witness examinations in its personal-warning phase will begin on November 1. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to testify on December 7, during hearings scheduled for November and December. Those summoned include IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Navy commander Eyal Harel, former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon and former president Reuven Rivlin. Zamir is not a suspect in the affair; Netanyahu and Ya’alon are among five people who previously received personal-warning letters from the commission.
