Smotrich Calls for Judea and Samaria Campaign to Dismantle Palestinian Authority

Bezalel Smotrich called on Friday for a comprehensive military campaign in Judea and Samaria to dismantle the Palestinian Authority, collect weapons and eliminate terrorists. Comparing his proposal with campaigns in Gaza and Lebanon, he argued that settlement-policy changes pursued by the current government were insufficient without a different security approach and a broad military operation. He said the timing could depend on the order of priorities involving Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. Smotrich said the proposed campaign should be among the first measures demanded and carried out in the next government.
