Amnesty Reports at Least 40 Killed in Nigeria’s Binnari Attack

Amnesty International Nigeria said on Saturday that at least 40 people were killed in gunmen’s attack on Binnari, in the Karim Lamido local government area of Taraba State, on Friday, October 23. The group said police had earlier confirmed 10 deaths, but more bodies had since been recovered and others were still being discovered. It reported that attackers burned food supplies, homes, shops and motorcycles, while families said relatives remained missing. Amnesty called for an impartial investigation, reparations for survivors and stronger protection for affected communities.
