Netanyahu Reportedly Orders Support for Argentina’s Falklands Talks Demand

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly instructed Israeli diplomats to support direct negotiations between Britain and Argentina over the future of the Falkland Islands. The instructions also call for acknowledging Argentina’s historical connection to the territory, which is administered by Britain and claimed by Argentina. The reported shift falls short of formal Israeli support for Argentine sovereignty over the islands. It followed British sanctions on Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria. The account published on October 24 did not specify when Netanyahu issued those instructions.
