Significant Election-Day Flooding Forecast for Southern and Eastern Israel

The Israel Meteorological Service forecast significant flooding in streams across the Negev, Arava and Dead Sea region on Tuesday, October 27. Its Saturday-afternoon update says rain will intensify markedly around midday, especially in southern and eastern Israel, accompanied by thunderstorms, wind gusts and hail. The forecast distinguishes Tuesday’s significant flood threat from the lower risk in the following day’s outlook. For Wednesday, October 28, the service forecasts local rain across Israel, isolated thunderstorms and a slight flood risk in Dead Sea and Arava streams.
