Wilders Backs Netanyahu Ahead of Tuesday’s Election

Geert Wilders publicly backed Benjamin Netanyahu in a message on X on Sunday, telling him he deserved to win Tuesday. Addressing Netanyahu as his friend, Wilders linked his endorsement to Israel’s defense against Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas. He argued that those efforts served Europe’s interests as well as Israel’s, and credited Netanyahu with contributing more to European freedom than European leaders. The post combined an appeal for Netanyahu’s electoral success with praise for Israel’s security role, and closed with a short expression of thanks in Hebrew.
