Harry Kane and Alexia Putellas won the men’s and women’s 2026 Ballon d’Or awards at a ceremony in London on 26 October. Bayern Munich striker and England captain Kane became the first Englishman to win since Michael Owen in 2001. He scored 73 goals in 65 games for club and country during 2025/26, including 61 for Bayern and 12 for England. Kylian Mbappé finished second in the men’s vote, with Lamine Yamal third. The ceremony marked the award’s 70th anniversary and was the first held in England.
