Jordan Says It Struck Militants in Southern Syria After Karak Church Attack

Jordan’s military said its air force struck militant hideouts in southeastern Syria on Monday in retaliation for Friday’s deadly attack at Hmoud church in Karak. It said the targeted groups were linked to the church attackers and reported militants killed or wounded and vehicles destroyed, without giving figures. Jordan said the operation was coordinated with Syria’s government, which denied any prior coordination. Daraa health director Khaled al-Amian reported five civilian deaths, including women, children and an elderly man, and two people injured in al-Muzayrib. Syria’s government said it had opened investigations and communication channels with Jordan.
