Nigeria's INEC Announces Online Publication of Preliminary 2027 Voter Register

Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission said on October 26 that it had decided to make the preliminary register for the 2027 general election available online. The commission said the same register was physically displayed at registration areas nationwide from October 9 to 15, allowing voters to inspect their details and submit claims and objections. It described online publication as an additional way to widen access after concerns from Nigerians and other stakeholders. INEC said it was still processing claims and objections ahead of certification and publication of the final register on December 15, 2026.
