UK Announces Another £432 Million for Rough-Sleeping Programme

Britain's government announced another £432 million for its rough-sleeping programme, increasing funding behind the commitment from £442 million to £874 million. The additional support, due to be detailed in Wednesday's Budget, extends beyond March 2027 through the rest of Parliament. Prime Minister Andy Burnham says the government aims to offer everyone sleeping rough a route off the streets or wider support before Christmas. He is to host the first Rough Sleeping Summit at Downing Street on Monday, October 26, bringing together businesses, charities, housing providers and local leaders.
