Walter Koenig’s Agency Announces Death of Star Trek’s Original Chekov

Galactic Productions announced the death of Walter Koenig, who played Pavel Chekov in Star Trek: The Original Series. The appearance agency said he died at his North Hollywood home with his daughter and niece beside him. Former co-star George Takei confirmed his friend’s death and recalled a friendship that began on the Enterprise bridge during the 1960s and lasted nearly six decades. The agency also remembered Koenig’s connection with generations of fans through his convention appearances.
