Michael Cohen is to leave his role as chief executive of H.L.R., the Rehovot Development Company, after the two-year term agreed when he took the position. The municipally owned company announced the planned departure on October 27 and said it would arrange an orderly transition to maintain management continuity, ongoing work and services. Cohen, who took office in December 2024, said: “When I took the position, it was agreed that I would serve for two years.” He said he would transfer knowledge and carry out an orderly handover. Before joining the company, he held senior management positions at Israel Railways and Bezeq. The company described work during his tenure on management processes, financial controls and monitoring, alongside urban projects coordinated with the municipality. The projects named in the announcement included Tamal 3003, the Blue Line, Kiryat Moshe and the municipal stadium. Mayor Matan Dil, who also chairs the company’s board, thanked Cohen for strengthening its management and advancing city projects. H.L.R. serves as the municipality’s execution arm for development and infrastructure, with work covering neighborhoods, employment areas, roads, bicycle paths, parks and public gardens. Its stated next step is the transition and handover; the announcement did not name a successor or give an exact final working date.
