Maccabi Tel Aviv Reportedly Advances Talks With Killian Hayes

Maccabi Tel Aviv is reportedly in advanced negotiations with French guard Killian Hayes as it seeks a replacement for injured Iffe Lundberg. The talks accelerated after Tuesday's EuroLeague defeat to Red Star Belgrade, according to a report published on Wednesday morning. No agreement or arrival has been confirmed. Hayes, 25, is the player with whom discussions have progressed furthest among the guards being considered. Jahmir Young and Nemanja Nedović have also been discussed. The club reportedly hopes to complete an agreement within a day so that Hayes could arrive on Friday, alongside the team's return from its EuroLeague double week. That timetable remains a reported objective, rather than a completed signing. Lundberg's absence is documented in the club's own medical announcement. On October 20, Maccabi said an MRI had confirmed a partial tear of his quadriceps tendon and estimated that he would be unavailable for 6–8 weeks. The recruitment report identifies Hayes as a possible replacement during that absence. The club's match recap confirms a 100–78 loss to Red Star in Belgrade on October 27. Its next EuroLeague game is against Paris on Thursday, also in Belgrade. The reported effort to advance the guard negotiations therefore comes between the two games; the proposed Friday arrival would follow that second fixture.
