PaymenT Says Business Continues Normally After Sharp Share Price Fall

PaymenT Financial Technologies said on Wednesday that it was not aware of an unusual event at the company and that its business was continuing normally. The Israeli consumer-credit company's clarification followed a stock-exchange inquiry prompted by the fall in its share price. The shares fell more than 14% on Wednesday, extending their decline to more than 40% over a week. In its statement, the company said: “To the best of its knowledge, no unusual event has occurred at the company, and its business is proceeding normally.” PaymenT, formerly known as Credit Shop, was founded in late 2014 and listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange in October 2021. It operates in point-of-sale consumer credit through a buy now, pay later model, with a platform connecting merchants, shoppers and financing institutions. Under that model, merchants receive payment without waiting for customers to complete their instalments. Most of the loan portfolios generated through this business model are sold to financing institutions. The company's shares had risen from the beginning of 2025 before weakening in February 2026; Wednesday's clarification came after the latest sharp decline.
