Bites announced on October 29 that it had raised $40 million in a Series A funding round led by PeakSpan Capital, bringing its total funding to $55 million. The company said the investment would support expansion in the United States and further development of its artificial intelligence platform for training frontline employees. Existing investors include Vertex Ventures, Horizon Capital, Rittenhouse Ventures and Lyra Ventures. Co-founder and chief executive Eran Heffetz said: “We built Bites to put that support in every frontline employee’s hands.” The platform delivers training videos lasting up to 90 seconds through channels including WhatsApp, SMS, Microsoft Teams and Slack, or through links. According to the company, employees can access the material without installing an application or logging in. Bites said its AI Studio converts company documents and procedures into branded training videos in more than 150 languages. Its Ask-AI feature answers employees’ questions using approved company material. The company named Unilever, Coca-Cola, Shake Shack, Wynn Resorts, The Venetian and Compass Group among its customers. It said some connections to sales, customer and workforce systems were already operating. PeakSpan’s Phil Dur and Charlie Reinkemeyer will join Bites’ board. The company said further platform development would focus on identifying performance gaps, creating relevant training and measuring business results. Its stated expansion plans also include partner and reseller channels and new sectors such as banking, insurance and the extended workforce.
