Platense reached the Copa Argentina final for the first time after beating Atlético Tucumán 5–4 on penalties following a 1–1 draw in Salta. The semifinal was played on October 28 at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena, with the result confirmed early on October 29 in UTC. Martín Palermo's team became the competition's first finalist. Renzo Tesuri gave Atlético Tucumán the lead in the first half, before Retamar equalized with a header after the interval. In the shootout, Platense goalkeeper Juan Pablo Cozzani saved Gabriel Compagnucci's attempt, the only missed penalty for Atlético. Guido Mainero then converted the decisive kick. The competition organizer described Platense's passage to the final as a “historic qualification”. Platense had entered the match as a Copa Argentina semifinalist for the first time. The result takes the club to its fourth final in three years, following the 2023 Copa de la Liga Profesional final and the 2025 Apertura and Trofeo de Campeones finals. Platense won the Apertura but lost the other two. Atlético had won the clubs' previous meeting in this cup on March 20, 2019, when Gervasio Núñez scored in a 1–0 victory in the round of 64. Platense will face the winner of the remaining semifinal between Banfield and Boca. AFA's published schedule lists that match for November 14 at 19:00 local time at the Estadio Malvinas Argentina in Mendoza.
