Raz Schreiber Returns to Givat Shmuel Coalition After Yeshiva Understandings

Givat Shmuel Mayor Yossi Brodny and council member Raz Schreiber have agreed that Schreiber will return to the city's municipal coalition, following understandings between the municipality and the local Bnei Akiva yeshiva. Schreiber, who chairs the local Religious Zionism faction, helped mediate those understandings. Brodny, Schreiber and yeshiva head Rabbi Shraga Fruchter met on October 29 and agreed to renew dialogue and cooperation. Brodny welcomed both Schreiber's return and the understandings with the yeshiva. He credited dialogue, goodwill and cooperation with making the agreement possible and thanked Schreiber for his involvement in advancing it. The mayor said he was confident that they would continue working together for Givat Shmuel and its residents. The cooperation discussed at the meeting concerned the yeshiva, its students and the city's residents. Schreiber said, "Now is the time to unite and put disagreements behind us." He called for looking ahead for the common good, with respect for Torah and residents. Fruchter also welcomed the understandings and wished the participants continued success in their joint work. The announcement did not disclose financial terms, specific concessions, a new position for Schreiber or an implementation timetable.
