Mojtaba Khamenei Orders Iran’s Military to Respond Without Geographic Limits

Mojtaba Khamenei directed Iran’s armed forces on October 31 to respond immediately to threats of any scale or form without geographic restrictions, according to a statement on his official English-language channel. The statement described a meeting with senior commanders and instructions to update military targeting plans involving U.S. and Israeli assets. The published directive demanded “an immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response.” Khamenei ordered a comprehensive update of the target database to include physical and non-physical American and Israeli assets. He also said Iran’s armed forces and population would determine the timing and conditions for ending any renewed attacks, which he characterized as military or terrorist. The instructions called for stronger military intelligence, development of domestic defense doctrine and tactics, and integration of emerging technologies into defense and security capabilities. They also included support for the livelihoods and needs of service members. According to the channel, commanders briefed Khamenei on readiness along the Persian Gulf coast, Strait of Hormuz and Sea of Oman, as well as Iran’s northwestern and southeastern borders. The statement claimed that production of key munitions and reconnaissance, support and combat weapons had increased severalfold, but provided no figures. It did not announce a specific strike or give a timetable for an operation.
