New Poll Puts Likud at 28 Seats and Netanyahu’s Bloc at 54

Likud would win 28 seats and the parties grouped with Benjamin Netanyahu would hold 54 in a hypothetical repeat election, according to a Direct Polls survey released on November 3. Gadi Eisenkot’s grouping received 48 seats, with the Arab parties holding the remaining 18. Neither of the two larger groupings reached the 61 seats needed for a Knesset majority. The seat projection put Eisenkot’s Yashar second with 20 and Together at 12. The Joint List received 11, while The Democrats and Yisrael Beytenu each received 8. Ra’am, United Torah Judaism and Shas each received 7; Religious Zionism-Zehut and Otzma Yehudit each received 6. The figures describe voting intentions in the survey, rather than an election result or an agreement between parties. Asked which outcome they preferred, equal shares of 34% chose another election and a unity government led by Netanyahu. In a separate question, 74% opposed an Eisenkot-led minority government with Ra’am participating and the Joint List abstaining or providing outside support; 22% supported that arrangement. These questions measured responses to specified alternatives, rather than asking only which party respondents would vote for. Direct Polls conducted the survey on November 2 among 559 adults aged 18 and over, using a digital system combined with a panel. The poll publication described the sample as representative of Israel’s general population. Its seat estimates and responses to government-formation questions came from that single survey.
