Daniel Peretz Helps Southampton Secure 1–1 Draw at West Brom

Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz helped Southampton earn a 1–1 draw away to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Tuesday, November 3. Peretz started the Championship's 14th-round match and made saves in both halves as the visitors recovered from a first-half deficit. The clubs entered the match in fourth and fifth places, with only one point separating them before kickoff. West Brom threatened early, with Jimmy-Jay Morgan shooting over the goal in the fifth minute. Seven minutes later, Peretz stopped a powerful effort from Jayson Molumby from about 20 metres. The home side went ahead in the 22nd minute through Isaac Price's penalty. The spot kick followed Jack Stephens's foul on Rabby Nzingoula inside Southampton's penalty area, giving West Brom a lead it held until halftime. Southampton drew level in the 53rd minute when Samuel Edozie finished from close range after a scramble inside West Brom's penalty area. Peretz then kept the scores level late in the match, denying Aune Heggebø from roughly three metres in the 85th minute. Neither team added another goal after Edozie's equalizer, and the final whistle left both clubs with one point from the meeting.
