Ferencváros Beats AC Milan 2–0 as Joseph Scores Twice at San Siro

Ferencváros beat AC Milan 2–0 at San Siro on November 5 in the fourth round of the UEFA Europa League league phase. Lenny Joseph scored both goals, in the 52nd and 66th minutes, with Kristoffer Zachariassen helping to create each finish. The defeat left Milan with three points from four league-phase matches. The teams reached halftime at 0–0 after Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani had denied several visiting chances, including a one-on-one opportunity for Joseph. The opening goal followed a backpass from Koni De Winter: Zachariassen pressured Torriani, won possession and set up Joseph to score into an empty net. Joseph added the second after a midfield ricochet launched a Ferencváros counterattack, with Zachariassen again providing the final pass. Milan coach Rúben Amorim sent on Moreira, Gila and Pulisic at halftime. Ferencváros were reduced to ten players in the 77th minute when substitute Yusuf received a straight red card for an off-the-ball elbow against Gila. Milan nevertheless finished without a goal. Torriani had started in place of the suspended Mike Maignan, while Adrien Rabiot wore the captain’s armband. “We must be better in every aspect,” Amorim said in the club’s published post-match interview title. Milan’s next European fixture is away to Olympiacos in Greece. Before that, the club’s match report identifies an away league game against Genoa as its next domestic fixture before the international break.
