Mohammed bin Rashid Honours UAE Government Excellence Award Winners

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honoured federal institutions, managers and specialists at the UAE government excellence awards ceremony in Dubai on November 5. The UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai also presented the Mohammed bin Rashid Sash to Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan in recognition of his national service. Mohammed said: “We honoured the best leading federal entities, the best managers and the best specialists in the federal government.” His official statement recognised Sheikh Surour’s contributions over decades. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed said he attended the ceremony and celebrated the work and achievements of government institutions and employees. Mansour described the award as reflecting Mohammed’s approach of making excellence part of the culture of government work. An official announcement published on November 2 set out the scale of the 2026 evaluation cycle. It said 30 federal entities participated in institutional assessments, while 57 leaders and 236 government employees were nominated for Prime Minister’s Medals. More than 130 Emirati and international experts and assessors took part. The cycle comprised 10 main and subsidiary institutional categories and 13 medal categories, alongside special recognition. The evaluation included four new categories covering artificial intelligence applications, proactivity and future readiness, chief AI officers and chief future-readiness officers. The awards are overseen by the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme, which the federal government launched in 2006. The official announcement said the awards are held every two years.
