Eilat to Host Free Classic-Car Display on Friday

Eilat is scheduled to host a free display of classic and collector cars on Friday, November 6. The Club of Five visit will bring vehicle owners to the parking area opposite Ice Mall, where residents and visitors can view the cars between 9 a.m. and noon. The program includes an opportunity to meet the owners as well as see their vehicles. A reception for the club's participants is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. with Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri. Admission to the public display is free. The Club of Five dates its establishment to 1985, when the Israeli Drivers' Association founded it to bring together owners of older vehicles and promote their preservation. Its name refers to the five-digit registration plates carried by older cars when the club was established. A November 2024 account of the club's Eilat visit described the journey as an annual tradition. The club's stated aims include preserving collector vehicles and increasing awareness of motoring history. It organizes displays, gatherings and journeys as part of that work. In Eilat, the announced next step is the Friday morning display opposite Ice Mall, with the mayoral reception taking place during its three-hour public opening.
