Talia Lankri Leaves Gedera Council; Kobi Alfasi Chosen to Lead Ometz Faction
Talia Lankri announced on Friday morning, November 6, that she was ending her service on Gedera’s local council after being elected to the Knesset. Her Ometz faction chose councillor Kobi Alfasi to lead its work on the council, while the identity of the person who will fill her council seat has yet to be announced. Lankri told residents that the faction had held an internal vote to maintain continuity in its council activity. A majority chose Alfasi as faction chairman. The announcement did not give a vote count. Lankri expressed confidence that he would continue and strengthen the faction’s work, and thanked residents and council colleagues for their support. In her farewell message, Lankri described her council service as listening to residents, raising their concerns and seeking answers. She said leaving the council would not end her connection with the town and promised to remain available to its residents from the Knesset. “The mission changes, but the commitment remains,” Lankri wrote. The faction leadership vote and the replacement of her council seat are separate steps. Lankri said the incoming councillor would be announced shortly in accordance with the required legal process. She did not name that person or give a date for the announcement.
