Zidane Gives Pablo Pagis First France Call-Up for Italy and Turkey Matches
France coach Zinédine Zidane named Pablo Pagis in a 23-player squad on November 6 for the national team's final two Nations League group matches, against Italy and Turkey. The Paris FC player received his first senior France call-up, joining a forward line that also includes Kylian Mbappé, Michael Olise and Marcus Thuram. Paris FC called the selection "a great source of pride for the Parisian club and its attacker." The club said Pagis is its first player selected for France's senior squad since Louis Floch and Jean-Paul Rostagni in May 1973. Its announcement described the call-up as his first at senior international level. The club identified Pagis as a 23-year-old attacking midfielder who joined from FC Lorient this summer. It said he had received a preliminary call-up in September, before earning a place in the November squad. Pagis plays under Liam Rosenior at Paris FC. The national team's published list also includes Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué among the forwards, alongside midfielders Eduardo Camavinga, Rayan Cherki and Aurélien Tchouaméni. Mike Maignan, Guillaume Restes and Robin Risser are the three goalkeepers. France will face Italy in Milan on November 12, then host Turkey in Bordeaux on November 15. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 20:45 local time.
