Dana White Says He Will Meet Trump Monday About Press Secretary Offer

Dana White said Saturday that he would meet President Donald Trump on Monday after Trump announced he had offered the UFC chief executive the White House press secretary position. Speaking at a boxing event in London on November 7, White said he was flying to Washington that night. It was not clear whether he had agreed to take the job. White declined to discuss the substance of his conversations with the president. He said, “We have a meeting on Monday, so sure, I’ll have more to talk about after that.” Trump announced the offer in a Truth Social post and suggested that UFC fighters could serve as assistants. White also shared Trump’s announcement on Instagram and posted an image of himself at the White House briefing podium with a caption referring to a new chapter. Those posts did not establish that he had accepted the position. The press secretary role has been vacant since Katie Zacharia left on October 16 after five days in the job. She had succeeded Karoline Leavitt, who announced in August that she would leave to spend more time with her family. White and Trump have a longstanding friendship, and Trump has attended UFC events. White identified Monday’s meeting as the next opportunity to discuss the offer publicly.
