You’re intentionally conflating two issues: an editorial decision to publish something judged newsworthy by a news organization and the decision of a government official to commit a crime by leaking classified information that damages national security. The former does not absolve the latter, nor does publication change the fact that sharing it was a criminal act. I have a long record of calling for the vigorous prosecution of those who expose classified information from Assange to Snowden. Providing classified information to our enemies suggesting that the Iran operation could compromise our ability to project power to deter them is extremely damaging to the country, could embolden them to miscalculate, and is a violation of both the law and betrayal of the oath they took. It’s a disgrace.

A senior official with direct knowledge tells me the U.S. has brought over 1,000 ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Amazing. Iran does not control the strait. America does.
