Journalist Reza Valizadeh is now the only American behind bars in Iran's notorious Evin prison who has been designated by the US as wrongfully detained, according to his brother Mohammed Valizadeh. He tells me "It is now time for the U.S. government to take action to secure his release." I've confirmed that Kamran Hekmati, an Iranian-American dual national, was released from Evin Prison 3 days ago though he is unable to leave the country.
"The Syrian government has begun to confront the grave crimes committed by its forces last July and to hold those responsible to account before its courts. That is the direction of hope, and it must continue. "
