The data are unequivocal: according to a cross-check conducted by RAMA, the decline was most drastic in schools whose principals reported that they had no teachers with suitable training. Now, some will claim: “But in recent years there has been an increase in matriculation eligibility rates; the situation is improving.” That is smoke and mirrors, straight-up Isra-bluff. They simply reduced the material, gave a bonus, doctored the results, and postponed exams. But you cannot fool the OECD. PISA is an identical international test in every country, one that truly compares the state of education systems. And the result when you really check is that Israel is in complete collapse. The failing tier expanded by about 35%, the top-performing tier shrank by about 40%, state education collapsed more than all the other education streams, and all this while Haredi boys who do not know the core curriculum at all do not participate. Some will also say it is because of the ongoing war. That is true; it is harder to study during a war. But it is also harder to treat patients, provide public transportation, and build neighborhoods. So what do we do? Nothing? No. All government ministries must prepare in advance to operate in an emergency, just as the army prepares in advance for war. The Education Ministry simply failed and did not prepare properly. The state comptroller wrote that too: they did not prepare for digital learning and did not provide a serious response.
