Macron Says Israel's Security Cannot Justify Violating Neighbors' Sovereignty at UN

French President Emmanuel Macron told the UN General Assembly that France remains committed to Israel's security, but warned against arguments that security requires violating neighboring states' sovereignty. He urged respect for Lebanon's sovereignty and said a fully sovereign Lebanon was needed to address Hezbollah's presence and restore security. On Gaza, Macron said claims that peace had been achieved had not brought more humanitarian deliveries and described continuing restrictions on aid as shameful. He also questioned the credibility of states that recognized Palestine but, in his view, had not acted on Gaza's humanitarian situation.
