Health Ministry Finds Salmonella in Two Aljimal Tahini Products

Israel's Health Ministry said routine market sampling found Salmonella in two Aljimal, also branded Al-Gamal, white tahini products. The affected packages are a 1-kilogram container made in March 2026 with a March 2027 best-before date, and a 500-gram container made in April 2026 with an April 2027 best-before date. The ministry said the company's products entered Israel without the required approvals, leaving their production conditions and safety unverified, and instructed the public not to consume them. It warned that Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, with young children, older adults and immunocompromised people facing greater risk of severe illness.
