AG Tells High Court Ben Gvir Talks Failed Over Police Independence

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara told the High Court that four working sessions failed to produce agreed rules governing National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's relationship with the police. Her filing said substantive gaps remain over police independence, nonpolitical policing and limits on ministerial involvement in operational force. She also alleged that subsequent conduct breached both the principles framework and the court's interim order, citing comments on investigations, field activity and senior appointments. Ben Gvir rejected her position, said she was trying to topple the right-wing government and vowed that his government would keep working.
