Israel's 10-year military force-buildup plan has risen from NIS 350 billion to nearly NIS 400 billion, while the 2026 defense budget reached a record NIS 184 billion. A senior military official said NIS 40 billion was added in recent days and another NIS 10 billion is expected, but no funding source has been identified. The IDF divides the plan into NIS 260 billion for agreed priorities, including domestic munitions lines and essential aircraft, plus NIS 100 billion for decisions by the next government. The military proposes NIS 50 billion in internal savings and NIS 50 billion from defense exports, leaving NIS 150 billion of the agreed package requiring new funding.
