Air Force Opens Religious Women's Operational Unit

The Israeli Air Force is opening a dedicated operational track for religious women, with the first cohort scheduled for the November 2026 draft. The unit will combine rifleman 06 basic training, mission-specific preparation, navigation, observation, cooperation with Air Force squadrons, female command staff and ongoing spiritual guidance. The move follows earlier dedicated frameworks for religious women in Combat Intelligence and other commands, as IDF data show about 4,000 religious women enlisted in 2025 and demand for meaningful service continues to rise. Israel can strengthen manpower and honor Torah observance by building serious service paths that respect faith, modesty and operational need.
