Energy Ministry Targets 30-Day Solar-Roof Approvals
The Energy Ministry published a public-comment proposal meant to shorten rooftop solar installation from as long as six months to 30 days as part of the national goal of 100,000 solar roofs by 2030. Times of Israel reports the ministry review found a home system now faces 22 to 26 stages, more than 10 professional or regulatory bodies and connection delays of up to three months even after installation. Regulatory costs can reach NIS 23,000 per system, with almost 40% of cost tied to labor, planning, inspection and regulation. Faster approvals would strengthen Israeli energy resilience, lower household costs and put more clean power on local roofs.
