Three Morning Murders Include Netanya Rabbi
Three people were murdered in separate incidents early Wednesday, including Rabbi Amos Gueta, 75, a known Netanya rabbi and yeshiva head who was stabbed at his yeshiva on Shimon Bar Yochai Street and died at Laniado Hospital. Police later arrested a Netanya resident in his 20s; Israeli reports say the suspect had frequented the rabbi's circle, stabbed him four times after an argument, and also tried to stab a sexton. Separate criminal-background killings were reported in Shfaram, where bus driver Ali Sweid was shot dead, and near Yagur, where a 21-year-old from Basmat Tab'un was killed in a shopping-center parking lot. Israel must answer with stronger policing, respect for Torah communities and equal protection for Jewish and Arab citizens.
