IDF Reservist Arrested in Weapons-Trafficking Probe
Walla published at 06:00 IDT and JPost followed at 08:58 that an active IDF reservist from a southern city was arrested this week on suspicion of illegal weapons possession and arms trafficking. Police detectives from Lahish and Military Police investigators searched his home after intelligence pointed to suspected weapons dealing, seizing a Kalashnikov rifle, a sniper rifle and large quantities of ammunition. The soldier reportedly told investigators, "These are weapons from October 7," but police and Military Police rejected that explanation and suspect the cache was held for sale to criminal elements. Israel's security system is right to close every path that lets battlefield weapons feed criminal violence.
