IDF Says Upper Galilee Sirens Were False Identification

At 20:01 IDT, the IDF said rocket-fire sirens that had sounded minutes earlier in Avivim and Yiron on the Lebanon border were triggered by a false identification. Ynet's Hebrew flash, published at 19:58 and later modified at 20:02, reported the same false-alert update for the Upper Galilee, while HotNews carried the IDF text and Kore logged the alert sequence. The quick correction matters because northern residents need accurate warnings without allowing false alarms to blur the real Hezbollah threat. Israel should keep alert systems sensitive and public updates fast as IDF forces continue working to keep Iranian-backed Hezbollah away from northern communities.
