Azerbaijan Jewish Leaders Warn Knesset on Armenian Genocide Bill

Azerbaijan's Jewish community leaders and Israeli strategist Prof. Efraim Inbar warned MKs at 21:38 IDT about the diplomatic cost of advancing Armenian Genocide recognition. Milikh Yevdayev, Alexander Sharovsky and Rabbi Zamir Isayev urged Knesset members not to turn a sensitive historical issue into a political vote, warning it could damage Israel-Azerbaijan trust and complicate the South Caucasus peace track. Inbar said the move may punish Turkey rhetorically but harm Azerbaijan, a strategic partner for Israel. Israel should honor historical truth while weighing how best to protect a loyal Jewish diaspora and a vital Muslim-majority ally bordering Iran.
