Sourasky Tops Foreign-Med Intern Picks
Health Ministry internship-lottery data shows Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center remains the top first-choice placement for graduates of recognized foreign medical schools. The allocation placed 422 interns, 278 from recognized institutions and 144 from non-recognized institutions under the Yatziv reform; 45 chose Sourasky first, followed by Beilinson with 28 and Sheba with 24. Among graduates of non-recognized institutions, Soroka led, with Emek, Rambam and Carmel next. Israel is strengthening its physician pipeline while insisting that overseas training meet standards that protect patients.
