Border Police Fighter Questioned, Removed From Unit Over Qalandiya Grenade

Israel National News

Police Internal Investigations questioned the Border Police fighter filmed throwing a stun grenade into a Palestinian car in Qalandiya and, after the questioning, he was removed from his unit for eight days and barred from contacting those involved. Earlier same-day reports said Border Police had suspended him from operational activity and referred the case to investigators after footage showed him throwing the stun grenade into the vehicle and leaning on the driver's door as the driver tried to get out before the blast. Police said the conduct shown did not match procedures, while Border Police said forces had been operating amid violent disorder around Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab. Israeli security forces need authority in hard areas, and public trust needs disciplined force, fast review and accountability.
