High-Tech Job-Seekers Hit Record in AI-Era Labor Report

Israel's Employment Service said high-tech job seekers reached a record in May 2026, with about 16,300 registered from the sector and roughly 11% of all job seekers coming from high tech. The report says the high-tech share has almost tripled since the pre-ChatGPT period, while software occupations, the roles most exposed to AI tools, account for about half of the sector's job seekers. Reports citing the service also highlight a sharp rise among experienced workers, including a 181% increase since 2023 among those with more than eight years of experience. Employment Service CEO Inbal Mashash said the service is working to place high-tech job seekers in technology roles outside the sector through training and employer partnerships.
