IDF Says Bint Jbeil Captive Is Elite Hezbollah Radwan Commando

The IDF confirmed Wednesday night that the Hezbollah terrorist captured Tuesday during a Bint Jbeil structure search is a member of the elite Radwan Force, transferred to the Military Intelligence Directorate's Unit 504 for interrogation in Israel. Troops had returned Tuesday to the security-zone building where a reservist was severely wounded last Thursday, coming under fire from a Hezbollah operative inside; soldiers killed one gunman on the spot and apprehended a second alive, who was later identified as a Radwan Force commando planning imminent attacks on IDF forces stationed in southern Lebanon. Radwan is Hezbollah's elite commando unit that specialized for years in cross-border infiltration under the Conquer the Galilee plan. The IDF said troops seized weapons alongside the captured operative and will continue security-zone enforcement to prevent renewed threats to northern Israel.
