U.S. President Donald Trump said 1,000 missiles were loaded and aimed at Iran, with more to follow, if Tehran acts on threats to assassinate him. He wrote that orders had already been given for a one-year window and that the U.S. military was ready to strike Iranian targets if the threat is attempted. Reports tied the warning to Khamenei funeral ceremonies where mourners held posters or banners calling for Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be killed. The statement also landed amid the U.S.-Iran Hormuz escalation and Washington's demand that Tehran stop threatening commercial shipping.
