Brig. Gen. Eli David Assumes IDF Chief Engineering Officer Role at Huldah Ceremony

Brig. Gen. Eli David formally took over Sunday morning as the IDF's Chief Engineering Officer, succeeding Brig. Gen. Yoav Torchanski at a transition ceremony held at Huldah National Park, the Combat Engineering Corps memorial site to its fallen. Ground Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Nadav Lotan presided and told David he trusted him to lead the corps to great achievements. David previously commanded the elite Yahalom special-engineering unit from July 2022 through the Iron Swords war until July 2025. The corps has lost 721 combat engineers since its establishment, 91 of them in the current war. Torchanski completed 29 years of IDF service and 2.5 years as Chief Engineering Officer since January 2024.
