IDF Publishes Second Lebanon War Operational Order on 20-Year Anniversary

ערוץ 7

On the 20-year anniversary of the Second Lebanon War, the IDF released the war's Operational Order Number 1 from July 13, 2006 and the Spokesperson statement announcing the deep ground push toward the Litani River. The archived papers show how Israel prepared for parallel Gaza and Lebanon fronts hours after the Hezbollah cross-border raid that killed eight soldiers and abducted reservists Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev. They detail waves of Israeli air strikes on southern Lebanon and readiness to absorb Hezbollah rocket barrages on the home front. The July 12 release threads the current 2026 Lebanon war's security-zone campaign through the same institutional memory.
