IDF Details 10-Kilometer Layered Defense Belt in Southern Lebanon

An IDF field assessment says Israeli forces currently hold a strip roughly 10 kilometers deep from the Blue Line to key ridges in southern Lebanon. Battalion 9 commander Lt. Col. R. said mobile forces, surveillance systems and fortified "Fist" posts form a layered defense against Hezbollah missile, drone, anti-tank and infiltration attacks on northern communities. He said Hezbollah has been pushed away from the Shikdon ridge opposite Maroun al-Ras, reducing its direct-fire capability against nearby Israeli towns. Brigade 401 troops continue crossing the border, dismantling terrorist infrastructure and coordinating with local rapid-response teams.
