IDF Investigates Accidental Interceptor Launch at Israeli Artillery Fire

The IDF said an interceptor was accidentally launched Tuesday evening toward Israeli artillery fire directed into Lebanon. The military announced the incident at 8:55 p.m. Israel time and said it was under investigation. No public-warning sirens were activated, in accordance with policy, the statement added. The IDF did not immediately identify the interceptor system, the artillery unit, the launch location, or any resulting damage or casualties on either side, leaving the sequence and operational cause for the inquiry to establish.
