Extremist Protesters Disrupt Hasmonean Brigade Ceremony and Threaten Soldier

Hasmonean Brigade soldiers completed a squad-commanders course Tuesday at the Tomb of Samuel complex near Jerusalem, at a ceremony adapted for Haredi families and strict kashrut. Extremist anti-draft protesters gathered outside, chanted against enlistment and tried to block the vehicle of reserve Lt. Col. Yossi Levy, who supports Haredi service members; Border Police moved them away. One activist was filmed telling a religious soldier he would die in Gaza and burn inside a tank. Levy called the soldiers trailblazers who combine military service with Torah and Jewish observance.
