Israeli Man, 32, Killed in Fall in Swiss Alps

An Israeli man from the Druze village of Hurfeish was killed on Monday after falling from a great height in the Alps near the Switzerland-Italy border. Alam Fares, 32, was mourned in a village notice that announced his death with deep sorrow and acceptance in faith. A separate local tribute said the young man had been taken in an instant, leaving a grieving family, shocked friends and an entire village in mourning. His mother is known locally as “the soldiers’ mother” for cooking for troops deployed to Israel’s northern border after October 7.
